The Costa Blanca’s leading musical theatre group
West Side Story

In early 2014, Footlights Youth Theatre followed their success with Cats with a production of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story (lyrics by Stephen Sondheim).
It was performed to packed houses in Calpe, Torrevieja and Teulada.
The show
Set on the streets of New York's Upper West Side in the 1950s, this is a version of Romeo and Juliet, where the star-crossed lovers are attached to rival street gangs: the Puerto Rican “Sharks” and the native New York “Jets.”
Its fabulous list of songs includes Maria, One Hand, One Heart, Tonight, America, I Feel Pretty, Somewhere, and Gee, Officer Krupke.
The performances
